Clear answers about how 1E2 works.
What is 1E2?
1E2 is a live local-response marketplace. Customers tell us what happened; 1E2 checks suitable verified responder businesses that are actually available, their location and their pre-set pricing so the customer can choose who to request.
Is 1E2 an emergency service?
No. If there is immediate danger to life, fire, a serious gas incident or another emergency, contact the appropriate emergency service. In the UK, call 999.
How does matching work?
You tell 1E2 what happened and where you need help. We search suitable verified responder businesses using service fit, live availability, location, operating hours and service radius.
Do responders bid against each other?
No. Responders set their own prices before a job arrives. 1E2 sends suitable work to businesses that are actually available rather than selling a speculative lead to multiple companies.
Does 1E2 take commission from responders?
No responder commission is taken from completed jobs. Responders keep 100% of their completed job price. 1E2 uses a monthly membership model instead.
When do responders pay membership?
There is no monthly membership fee while the responder’s launch area is still recruiting. When the area goes live, the first 100 Founding Responders in that county receive their first 6 live months free. After that, membership is £79 per month per active responder. Responders joining after the first 100 start at £79 per month.
How are payments handled?
Customers see the responder price and the 1E2 service fee before confirming. For the initial urgent booking, payment is authorised before the responder is dispatched and captured according to the job-stage and cancellation rules shown at checkout. Completed responder earnings then enter a 48-hour customer review period before becoming eligible for the next Monday 12:00 PM UK payout run.
Can I cancel a request?
Yes, but charges may apply once a responder has been dispatched or has attended. The cancellation terms are shown before you confirm the booking.
Can businesses with multiple responders join?
Yes. 1E2 is organisation-first, so sole traders and larger companies can both join. Multi-responder organisations can manage teams and may qualify for volume pricing.
What if there is a problem after a job is completed?
Email Support@1elephant2.com. Service complaints and refund requests are handled person-to-person by 1E2. Where appropriate, the original responder is given the first opportunity to inspect and put qualifying work right before any refund or alternative resolution is considered.
